2. General Information on Data Processing

AI.OnAir is an Android app for live radio, current track information, artist pages, song likes, AI Top 100, music requests, broadcast schedules, and editorial content from AI.OnAir and WILD Musikmagazin.

The app does not use user accounts, require login or registration, and does not include any payment functionality. It contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.

For online functions, the app connects to servers and external services. This involves processing technically necessary connection data, in particular the IP address, date, and time, the resource accessed, and technical details regarding the connection. This processing is required for streams, API responses, images, and editorial content.

4. App Functions and Data Processing

4.1 Live Radio and Stream Quality

The app provides multiple AI.OnAir live stations via the AI.OnAir AzuraCast infrastructure at stream.novaporta.de . Depending on settings and network, the app may use a 128 kbit/s or 192 kbit/s stream.

When a stream is started, technically necessary connection data, including the IP address, is transmitted to the streaming infrastructure. This is for audio delivery, connection stabilization, capacity control, and technical error analysis.

4.2 Station List, Track Data, Covers, and Schedule

Station information and context for artist pages and likes are loaded via the public ArtistHub API at artisthub.ai-onair.com . Current tracks, covers, history, and schedule data are retrieved via the AI.OnAir AzuraCast infrastructure.

During this process, technically necessary connection and server data are processed. The app does not perform any personalized analysis of listening behavior.

4.3 Like Function

A like is only transmitted if the user explicitly taps the like button for the song currently playing. A time-limited security credential and the song and station information required for classification are transmitted.

To allow a maximum of one like per song per calendar day, the IP address is processed server-side. The IP address is not stored in plaintext in the like database. Instead, a hash value protected by a secret server system is generated from the IP address, date, and song ID. This pseudonymous individual record is deleted by a regular maintenance task within approximately 48 hours.

Only aggregated like counts per song and day are stored permanently. No individual user or connection can be identified from these counters. There is no use for advertising, tracking, or user profiling.

4.4 Artist Pages and External Links

If a public artist page is available for the current artist, it can be opened in the system browser via a button. AI.OnAir website, web player, TikTok, Spotify, and other public links are also only opened in an external browser or the associated app after a conscious user action.

The AI.OnAir app does not read browser accounts, cookies, or browser history. The respective privacy policies of the external services accessed apply.

4.5 Music Requests

The app loads the music request catalog available for the selected station via the ArtistHub API. When submitted, the station ID and selected request ID are transmitted to AI.OnAir and technically passed to AzuraCast. The V3 app does not collect names, email addresses, or personal messages for this purpose.

A music request is only submitted after the user makes an explicit selection. There is no guarantee of broadcast.

4.6 AI.OnAir News and WILD Musikmagazin

AI.OnAir posts, images, and logos are loaded from ai-onair.com . Article information and covers from WILD Musikmagazin are loaded from wildmusik.de . When accessed, the respective web servers may process technically necessary connection data.

Full articles are opened in an external browser after a conscious click.

4.7 Spotify Playlist

In the “AI Top 100” section, a Spotify playlist is integrated within a WebView. JavaScript, DOM Storage, and third-party cookies are enabled. A connection to Spotify is established only when this section is opened.

Spotify may process IP addresses, technical device and WebView information, interaction data, as well as cookies or similar technologies. Additionally, the playlist can be opened in the Spotify app or browser via a conscious user action.

4.8 Share Function

The app can pass prepared text and public links to the app, the AI.OnAir website, or the web player to the Android sharing dialog. The app does not read contacts for this purpose. Transmission to another app only occurs once the user selects a recipient app themselves. The respective provider is responsible for any further processing.

4.9 Local Settings and Cache

The last selected station, selected stream quality, and technically necessary cache data are stored on the device. This information is not used for advertising or creating a user profile. Android backups are disabled for the app. Local data can be removed by clearing the app data or uninstalling the app.

4.10 Notifications and Background Playback

On supported Android versions, the app requests permission to display a playback notification. This is used exclusively for the visible control of the radio playing in the background. The app does not use any push marketing service or Firebase tracking.

  • ai-onair.com: News, images, logos, and public websites.
  • WILD Musikmagazin / wildmusik.de: Article information, covers, and external articles.
  • Spotify: Embedded AI Top 100 playlist and consciously opened Spotify links.
  • User-selected apps: Exclusively when using the Android share dialog or when opening an external link.

7. Storage Duration and Deletion

  • Pseudonymous like records: automated deletion after approximately 48 hours.
  • Aggregated like counters: stored as non-personal statistics, generally until the associated song data is deleted.
  • Local settings and cache: until app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled; cache data may be replaced automatically beforehand.
  • Technical server and security logs: according to operational and legal retention periods.

8. Data Security

The app transmits online data exclusively via encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Unencrypted HTTP traffic is disabled in the Android configuration. Like records are pseudonymized and protected by a server-side secret.

9. Third-Country Transfers

For third-party providers with international operations, particularly Spotify, as well as recipient apps or websites selected by the user, processing outside the EU or EEA cannot be excluded. The data protection and security mechanisms of the respective provider apply.

10. Data Subject Rights

In accordance with legal requirements, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, and withdrawal of granted consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
