Hagen, July 18, 2026 – The interactive hybrid AI web radio AI.OnAir is going mobile. Starting today, the official AI.OnAir app is available for free download in the Google Play Store. The app brings the station’s 24/7 audio stream directly to smartphones and tablets, offering listeners numerous interactive features to actively shape the program.
The radio station of the future is going mobile
Following the successful launch of the web platform, the Android app release marks the next logical step for the Hagen-based web radio. The application was developed specifically for a smooth, mobile user experience. In addition to the crystal-clear livestream, the app offers a real-time display of the currently playing track along with the official cover art—an important detail for showcasing independent and AI artists.
“With the Android app, we are making AI.OnAir an omnipresent companion”, says Dennis Vorberg, founder of the station. “Music requests and influencing our playlists are now possible straight from your pocket with just a single tap. The app represents the most direct connection between listeners and artists that a web radio has ever offered.”
Full Android Auto support and interactive features
The app impresses with a range of well-thought-out features for music enthusiasts:
- Android Auto support: AI.OnAir can be seamlessly controlled and listened to in the car via the infotainment system.
- Interactive music requests: Listeners can send their favorite tracks directly to the studio and help shape the playlist.
- Real-time broadcast schedule: An overview of moderated airtimes and themed shows.
- Community voting: Cast your votes for the weekly “AI Top 100 Germany” directly within the app.
Simon Vogler, co-founder of AI.OnAir, adds: “We didn't want a simple WebView app, but a truly native experience for our community. Smooth integration with Android Auto was particularly important to us so that we could bring the sound of the future to the road as well. We are already working hard on a corresponding version for iOS.”
The AI.OnAir Android app is available for download in the Google Play Store now.
